Cisco to vacate five leased buildings in Milpitas

In spite of the fact that Cisco Systems Inc. has reported it will leave five rented structures in the Tasman Drive region, it plans to keep a nearness in Milpitas. That's what Robyn Blum, corporate advertising director for the San Jose-based Internet arrange provider, told the Post on Monday.

"We are focused on Milpitas," Blum said. "We additionally keep on maintaining a distribution center office."

She included that the five rented structures would be abandoned by December.

"Indeed, even with the exit of a few rented structures, Cisco keeps on having an extensive impression in Milpitas and have as of late put resources into critical remodels in our claimed properties in that city," a Cisco explanation peruses.

According to Blum, the company will retain about 1.2 million square feet of business space in town.

The most recent declaration came not as much as a month after Milpitas and Cisco authorities said the organization was not leaving town despite the fact that it didn't plan to recharge a rent with Hudson Pacific Properties Inc. for office space at 115-155 N. McCarthy Blvd.

Cisco, as per media reports, paid $10.4 million to break its rent in that area.

Amid the City Council's April 4 meeting, City Manager Tom Williams affirmed that media reports about Cisco breaking its rent at the workplace complex north of state Route 237 not the slightest bit implied the innovative organization, which saw overall incomes of $11.6 billion in the second quarter of 2017, was pulling up stakes in Milpitas inside and out.

"Cisco is not leaving the city of Milpitas," Williams told the gathering amid its April 4 meeting.

He noticed that Cisco — which possesses different office structures close to the Milpitas-San Jose fringe — would stick around.

"In any case, correspondence with Cisco is that they're particularly required with the city of Milpitas as an essential business and still have arrangements to extend," Williams said.

Cisco claims three structures on Alder Drive, two on McCarthy Boulevard and its kid mind fixate on Barber Lane, as indicated by Blum.Jennifer Ho, a Cisco representative, already told this daily paper Cisco will remain a dynamic individual from the Milpitas Chamber of Commerce. The organization was working with the chamber to have the International Festival and BBQ and chaperon auto appear in May at a Cisco property on Alder Drive, she included.

"Furthermore, we are supporting the current year's State of the City discourse (June 29)," Ho said already.

Cisco, established in 1984, has more than 73,700 workers around the world. In Milpitas, the organization has been one of the city's top income generators, alongside the Great Mall and vehicle dealerships Piercey Toyota and South Bay Honda.
