Cisco has expanded its security solutions portfolio in order to address
advanced threats all the way from endpoints through to networks and the cloud.
The US technology major has developed its new offerings with the aim of helping
customers handle both zero-day attacks and advanced persistent threats (APTs)
in a systematic manner.
Cisco now aids users in protecting themselves from ongoing and advanced cyber risks. Its updated Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) is the first solution that enables linking of Indications of Compromise (IoC) information between networks and endpoints and successfully combines defense and shared intelligence. Also, AMP allows on-premise and cloud analysis and is able to correlate threat data throughout Cisco's security portfolio.
The growing sophistication and efficiency of cyber attacks targeting business organizations is serious cause for concern, according to Dan Polly, First Financial Bank VP of enterprise information security. However, Cisco's AMP provides a highly effective tool for addressing these threats, Polly added. One of the major difficulties is that currently many attacks disrupt business operations before even being detected by security tools, Cisco senior VP of security.
Christopher Young commented. Since attacks can breach systems at any point, Cisco has made it its goal to deliver protective solutions at all points and at all times, Young said. The new portfolio includes several improvements and new capabilities. One of them is AMP For Networks, which is designed for high- performance networks and delivers state-of-the-art IoC. This makes it possible to choose the most adequate solution for a specific threat. Meanwhile, Dynamic Analysis measures suspicious files so that unfamiliar threats are dealt with.
